Last Day of School for 2016

Hello Moretown Families,

Waiving goodbye on the last day!

It is hard to believe that today marks the end of our 2015-2016 school year.  Seems like just yesterday we were putting up our welcoming posters to usher in the new school year.    As a staff, we appreciate the opportunity to grow along side of your amazing students each day.  Thank you for all of your support and partnership as we journeyed together through the many learning opportunities and wonderful celebrations we enjoyed this year.  We hope that all of our families take some time this summer to enjoy family and friends and continue learning about all our interesting world has to offer.

Sadly with the end of the school year we also need to say goodbye to one of our dedicated staff members.  Mrs. Cheri will not be returning next year due to budgetary reductions.   Mrs. Cheri has been a wonderful addition to our staff who always brought a great sense of humor to the many interesting situations she found herself in during four years at the Moretown School.  Mrs. Cheri cares deeply about kids and it showed by the smiles and connections she made while with us.   She will be sorely missed.

Coming items:

1.  The school roof over the newer 1996 addition will be replaced over the summer.  Work should being soon.

2.  The new playground move/site work will begin this summer.  We are hopeful that the site and some elements will be ready by the fall.

3.  A brief feedback survey will be sent to Moretown School Families sometime next week.  This survey will help us understand how we did as a community school this past year.  This information will be utilized as a learning opportunity in areas where we can make some improvements,

Have a great weekend,

Respectfully submitted

Duane Pierson

MORETOWN FIELD DAY ANNOUNCED!

Our annual K-6 Field Day is next Tuesday , June 7th in the afternoon. This year's activities are focused around a beach theme. Come prepared to get wet, to be outside, and to have fun!
Please have your child come with sunscreen on and, if they're so inclined, ready to participate in their best "beachy-wear" outfit; there will be recognition for beachy spirit and beachy wear  given. (Got a grass skirt in your closet???) Watershoes/sandals and comfortable clothes for moving around are recommended. Activities include items such as beach ball volleyball, seashell water relay, snorkel obstacle and a slip and slide. Similar to last year, this will be a carnival event, where students earn tickets through completing challenges; tickets can then be turned in to do a host of fun activities....
We do need a few volunteers to help run stations. Please contactabataille@wwsu.org if you are able to help. Thanks!!!

Tuesday, June 7th, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Cast your vote regarding WWSU Board Consolidation. Absentee ballots available now at the town office. Thank you for taking time to become informed, to vote (and get your neighbors to vote too!!) and to insure that our schools reflect your values and needs!
