WINTER READING
I'm happy to announce that Moretown School Library is now a part of Vermont Schools Shared Digital Collection through Overdrive.  What does this mean?  It means that all students now have access to a collection of eBooks and audiobooks that they can check out on any device.

Do you have an iPad?  Or a Kindle?  Or a Chromebook?  Or a desktop computer?  Now your student can check out books to read or listen to on any of these devices.  They only need their library card number.  This can be found on their library card or their library bookmark or ask me!

There is a wide variety available that gets updated regularly with new titles for all ages ranges.  It's a great place to look for books on our state awards list too.   The link to the collection is here or on the library website.

If you need help using this resource, please don't hesitate to ask me.  I'd be happy to get anyone started and enjoying these great books and audiobooks.

HARWOOD UNIFIED UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT
SCHOOL DISTRICT FORUM/DISCUSSION
DECEMBER 18, 2017

You are invited to share your ideas with members of the school board!
Guiding topics are:
  • what do you value most about the schools?
  • What is missing?
  • What are your thoughts about our adopted goals and how would you prioritize them?

This forum is part of our new effort to create more opportunities to listen to - and engage with – the public. It is an important opportunity to offer your thoughts to the board as we participate in this and future budget cycles, and as we do our work throughout the year.

Harwood Union Rotary Interact club is holding the Gifts of Kindness clothing and toy drive for our 14th year. This drive seeks to collect new and very gently used toys and clothing for families in Washington County experiencing homelessness. We plan to collect items between the dates of November 28th 1st and December 8th. Interact works with the Good Samaritan House, the only homeless shelter in Central Vermont, and CIRCLE in Barre, who provide shelter for families experiencing domestic violence. Our goal is to brighten the holiday season for people in need. We hope you will be able to help out! Please feel free to contact Ellen Berrings, 882-1167 oreberrings@wwsu.org for more information. There is a donation box in the school entrance, across from the office.

Harwood Union Peace Alliance group is conducting a coat and warm clothing drive through the first week of December.  There is a donation box in the school lobby.

Spanish Music Hour  Dec 1, Dec 8, Dec 15 and Dec 22, at 10:00am , at the Warren Library. We will sing, we will dance, and have a project for the kids!  If you have any questions contact Constancia at:  Constanciag@gmail.com or 802-917-1776
