Bobcat Bulletin 1/29/23

A great shot from Brian @ Emberphotography from 1/17/23

 School News:

Kindness at KITS: We are doing all sorts of kindness activities in our KIT groups through February.  As one of our core values at Moretown School, kindness is part of most all we do, and an important part of Social Emotional Learning.  Ask you child(ren) what they are learning and practicing, and examples of how they can be kind to their family members, their community and their peers.

Missing gloves and mittens...please look around for black Gordini mittens and gloves that may have made their way to your home.  They have MES written on the tag inside.  Thanks so much!

Upcoming All-School Field Trip
We are going to the Flynn Theater on Wednesday, March 29th to see Zooom. We will be leaving school at 8:30 and returning by 12:30. Students will eat snacks to and from the theater and will eat bagged lunches (from home or school) when we return. Please be on the look out for more information to come home early this week.

PE
Friday was Ms. Ally's last day with us this year.  Ms. Kae Zaino has officially started and got to spend the week with us.  We will see her again starting 2/6/23 for our next week of PE!

This week at ECO

Hello Moretown Families!

We are excited to share the ECO Forest Fest ‘23 “Save the Date” with all of you! This will be our second (ever) Forest Fest and we hope you will consider joining us for a fun-filled afternoon of sledding, hot chocolate, donuts, eco base-camp activities and much more!

As we prepare for ECO Forest Fest ‘23, we will be drumming up students’ excitement by hosting several special invitations in the school lobby during arrival on Thursday February 2nd, Friday February 10th and Friday February 17th. Student Ambassadors look forward to sharing custom ‘Forest Fest’ temporary tattoos with all students as they arrive at school. We will also be offering a special ECO tea invitation wherein students can make their own teas as they head into class.

Save the date and please consider joining us on February 19th from 1-4 as we all gather and celebrate the ECO program at Moretown School with our community and beyond.

Warmly,

Friends of ECO at Moretown School

New StoryWalk® on Moretown Rec Fields

From the Friends of Moretown Library

Along with the arrival of snow, comes a new StoryWalk® installation.  The book is Snowflake Bentley, written by Jacqueline Briggs Martin.  It is based on the life of Wilson Bentley, who was born in 1865 on a farm in Jericho.  He is credited with being the first person to photograph snowflakes, creating around 5000 images throughout his lifetime. The text  is beautifully illustrated with woodcuts by Vermont artist, Mary Azarian, who won the Caldecott Award in 1999 for this book.
