LEGO SUCCESS at the Moretown School's MECA summer camp

LEGO WEEK at Moretown

We are happy to report that LEGO week was a huge success for our summer campers.  Led my our one and only resident LEGO expert Mr. Stevenson, students created, designed and imagined with the many possibilities that LEGOs provide.  We ended the week with a trip to the Fairbanks Science Museum http://www.fairbanksmuseum.org/  As always a special thanks to Moie, Jess, Carol- Ann, Mrs. Shephard, Zoe, Kylie, and Dean for their work and commitment to our kids!

Next week our summer MECA students engage in "Sports Week" led by our local sport's star Stephen LaRock!

Check out some of our pics below!  Have a great summer weekend!

THE MORETOWN SCHOOL
SUMMER UPDATE 2015

Hello Moretown School Families,
We hope everyone is having a great summer with family and friends.  The Moretown is school has been busy with hosting our MECA summer camp and preparing the school for the 15-16 school year.  We wanted to touch base on a few items prior to our first school newsletter which will be sent out the week of August 10th.

  1. First Day of School will be August 25, 2015.  We will send out bus schedules, school schedules with our first newsletter the week of August 10th.  As you may be aware from an earlier letter, there are some changes with our end and start times this year.  School will begin earlier at 7:40 and end earlier at 2:30, however we will have school staff with students after dismissal until 3:00.  Busses will leave the school at 3:00.
  2. We are working on a new school blog http://moretownschoolblog.blogspot.com/ as a way to communicate up to date information to our school community.  This is a a new and exciting opportunity that we hope will take the place of our static newsletters this coming school year.  Simply go to the blog link above find the “follow by email” link - place your email in the box to get our updates when they occur.
  3. Mark your calendars:  Monday, August 17 at 6:30.  Duane Pierson (principal/teacher)  will host an overview of the 15-16 school year for any interested parents/guardians.  Topics will fall within the 3 C’s of our school, - Communication, Climate and Curriculum.  This is a great time to get some questions answered or learn about what we have planned for your kids this coming year.
