School Board
Dear members of our six town community,
At our last meeting on June 5, 2019, the Harwood Unified Union School District (HUUSD) board reviewed 27 PreK - 12 Scenarios with the goal of having 3-5 models by the end of the June 12th meeting. The board will then ask the admin team to populate these models over the summer using our approved criteria. To assist with this effort, Ray Daigle, Director of Facilities, presented on the current state of all 7 school buildings and campuses; and Michelle Baker, Chief Financial Officer, presented on the expenses of all 7 schools. The board narrowed the list of scenarios down from 27 to 10. (see action #2 below).
The Board took action on the three (3) items below (listed in order of the time in the meeting when the vote occurred):
- Approved the following items as part of the consent agenda: Approve past meeting Minutes; Accept: Vouchers 1259, 1269 and 1270 equaling $322,546.07; Approve proposal for the Fayston Elementary School Siding Project from Cutting Edge contracting in the amount of $54,387 to be funding by the Maintenance Reserve Fund; Approve proposal from Sunwood Systems for the Warren Boiler Replacement project in the amount of $123,470 to be funded by the Maintenance Reserve Fund, along with associated engineering costs of $9,450 provided by Engineering Services of VT; Approve proposal from Temperature Controls of VT for the CBMS controls update for $28,500 which provides an upgrade to the existing automated logic HVAC controls, to be funded by the Maintenance Reserve Fund.
- Adopted: That the board removed from further consideration any scenario that does not have at least one orange dot (which indicates a vote for keeping the scenario alive). Seconded. Carried. [This resulted in removing all scenarios but the following: a, b,c, d, e, g, p r, s, v].
- Adopted: That the board formally warn the policy packet for adoption on June 26th, 2019. Seconded. Carried.
Our next meeting is Wednesday, June 12th at 6:00 pm in the Harwood Union School library.
