Winter Smiles and the Best Sledding in the Valley! |
Dear Friends and Families,
'Tis the season for many things, including building school budgets. This process can feel removed from day to day school life, perhaps even more so when it is done as one for the unified district, but it remains as pertinent as ever. Information about the budget can be found online at the HUUSD website; Mad River TV also covers all of the board meetings, so if you aren't able to watch in person, you can view them https://mrvtv.com/ . There are many ways to continue to be connected to the work of the board. I encourage people to access these materials and ask questions now (I'm happy to discuss these matters) so that you feel informed to make a decision when asked to vote in March.
The budget is just one of the areas of responsibility of the HUUSD board. Please see the note below from the HUUSD board, inviting you to join a community forum next Monday. Whether you attend the forum, complete the soon-coming survey or watch the board meetings, your ongoing civic engagement helps keep our community vibrant.
Speaking of a community, we will be taking our kids outside as much as possible to enjoy the amazing snow conditions on our sledding hill. Make sure they have their snow clothes ready to go here at school.

Move it and READ Thursday, January 18, 2018
3:00pm – 4:30pm at the Moretown Memorial Library
An out-of-the-ordinary after school book club with Assistant Librarian Meredith Whitney. Let's face it, we all get a little antsy from time to time. Our first book will be Ghost by Jason Reynolds, which is suggested for grades 4-8 and is on the 2017 Dorothy's List. Please read the book in advance of the program, and contact moretownlibrary@gmail.comor 496-9728 to register to attend.
Spanish Music Hour Dec 1, Dec 8, Dec 15 and Dec 22, at 10:00am , at the Warren Library. We will sing, we will dance, and have a project for the kids! If you have any questions contact Constancia at: Constanciag@gmail.com or 802-917-1776
Don't Forget, the Moretown Sledding Hill is a great place to bring family and friends during the school holiday. |
