Middle School Volleyball Club Fall Open Gyms

Sunday Nights
September 8th through October (possibly November)
5pm-7pm

This will be a great time for middle schoolers to try volleyball for the first time and for existing players to continue practicing. The club is beginner-level and co-ed. All boys and girls entering grade 5-8 in the HUUSD are eligible. We will focus on basic rules of the game, skill building, and match-like games. In March we will participate in the Middle School March Madness League/Tournament.

HOLIDAY TASTE OF THE VALLEY 2019! 

Last year was such a success that people are already asking about it for this year. 

1) TIMING: Thanksgiving is late this year (November 28th). Would SATURDAY NOVEMBER 23rd work for everyone? 1-3 PM. 

2) PARTICIPANTS INVITED! Please let me know if you can do it so we know how many spaces we will need to host the teams. 

Schools: we'd like more schools to participate now that there's more time to plan. Waitsfield won last year so they will have to defend their "apron trophy". 

Scouts: we loved having so many Scouts participate last year. 

Other youth groups: Constancia's team did great and we hope they and other (4H?) groups join in the fun 

If there is anyone else who should be on this list please forward and let me know. 

3) Same concept as last year: 

a - teams decide on a "holiday" taste and submit a recipe which is hosted on the Chamber website for all to visit if they want to be able to make it themselves. 

b - the public has to taste at least x number of samples in different locations in order to vote (will be determined once we know how many participants). 

c - Judge and public voting is done day of the event. 

d - winner's name gets embroidered on the trophy apron and recognition in the Valley Reporter.
