Bobcat Bulletin 10/7/22

Visiting with Bob the bobcat in 1/2.

Just a reminder, there is no school Friday or Monday.

School News:

We had our first "All School" Morning Meeting this Wednesday.  It had literally been years since we had gathered together in this way.  It was great to see all the smiling faces and I was impressed by the groups' attentive listening and super respectful audience behavior!  There is something about all of us being in the same room that is pretty awesome.
We will plan to gather the first Wednesday of each month to check in with each other and connect in this whole group way. Also on Wednesdays (other than the first one of the month), starting on 10/19/22 students K-6 will be participating in new thing called "KITS," where they meet in small, multi-age groups with a school staff member to connect and get to know one another.  Each KIT is assigned a Vermont native animal and a space to meet.  Social Emotional Learning will be at the forefront with these groups, and my prediction is they will be a highlight of students' weeks. I know it wlll be the highlight of mine.
Wednesday mornings are going to be full of activities, it will be a day that it is really important for students to arrive on time.  Thanks for helping with this, and for all you do to support you kids and all of us.

Speaking of Wednesdays, this coming Wednesday is Walk to School Wednesday!  We will have three this year; one fall, one winter and one spring. For those of you who participated last year, it will be very similar.  We will meet at the Moretown Store between 7:20 and 7:40 and then we will walk all together down the sidewalk to school.  More information will be sent to you next week.

Description automatically generatedBrain Club from All Brains Belong VT! This month's theme centers around Creating Neuroinclusive Spaces. We've been talking the last few months about unlearning Brain Rules (aka "reimagining systems") AND at the same time, recognizing that Brain Rules are sometimes an access need. How do we navigate our conflicting access needs with others' Brain Rules?
