We start this week!!  A couple of things to remember:
  • All lunches will be sandwiches on Tuesdays for the ski season (for all grades).
  • Please make sure students arrive at school with all of their needed gear
  • Change Pick up Patrol if you plan to get your child from the mountain.  These changes need to be made by 10:00.

PE
Ms. Ally is due to have her baby soon... like real soon.  We will welcome Kae Zaino to the gym here at Moretown School for the remainder of the year.  Here's a little about Kae:

Caitlin "Kae" ( pronounced Kay) Zaino will be joining MES (and our sister school WES) as our Physical Education (PE) and Health teacher when Miss Ally begins her family leave later this month.
Mrs. Zaino has a depth of experience as an outdoor education instructor, having provided instruction in skiing and rock climbing,  For the past 7 years, she has worked as the PE teacher at St. Monica- St Michael's School in Barre, where she also served as the Assistant Principal.  She has a strong interest in outdoor education and is looking forward to utliziing some of the outdoor spaces around MES for PE this spring.
Mrs. Zaino lives in Montpelier and truly models an active lifestyle; she competes in biathalons  and trail running races in her free time. She is looking forward to joining our school community.

PTO Updates

Hi families:

We need your help!

The PTO is hoping to increase parent engagement as we continue to grow and change as an organization. As we now are back to a more involved pace of life we hope to create more community, fun and joy at Moretown school for all community members. The PTO not only provides funding for school events like the awesome Troy Wunderle’s Circus and the winter ski program, but it can be a great way for families to come together and get to know each other through activities like walk to school day and the Halloween Party.

The PTO is looking to increase our leadership team with more volunteers, visionaries and 4 new officers. We are hoping to not only add families to our hands on helpers for community events but also to fill the positions of president, vice president, treasurer and secretary by the beginning of May. If you are interested in taking on a leadership role, please contact moretownpto@gmail.com so we can give you a more detailed job description for any of these roles. We would love to talk with you and get to know you so feel free to text or call Melanie Grubman 802-503-9774

With the goal of continuing to create Moretown school as a community hub for our great town, we want to collect some information using the attached survey to see what kind of events, and community experience your family may enjoy. We truly hope to hear back from you and work alongside you to create a wonderful place for our children in this beautiful valley.
Regardless of your availability, please take 5 minutes to fill out this survey!

In the spring, the Mad River Valley Soccer Association provides a competitive soccer experience for boys and girls from the Mad River Valley and Waterbury areas. The Spring Travel program participates in the Vermont Soccer League and is for players who have demonstrated a higher level of skill and commitment to soccer.  The first games are the first weekend in May; the last game is typically in mid-June.  Teams practice at Mad River Park, with typically Two practices per week.

Spring soccer is based on the player's birth year; registration will be open for players born between the years 2005 to 2014. We will offer a Spring program for our younger players; registration will be forthcoming.

Registration will occur from January 9, 2023, to January 30, 2023; the registration fee will be $130.

Late registration (After January 30, 2023) will be based on roster availability (you are not guaranteed a spot after January 30), AND pricing will increase to $150, until Late registration closes on February 24.
