Moretown School Families (second posting)

As you may be aware,  the Moretown School budget is being discussed and developed at the newly formed Harwood Union Unified School Board which meets at Harwood Union 6pm on Wednesday evenings. Meetings can be viewed on Mad River TV (web available). At this point in the budget process there are no indications of any significant changes or reductions as it relates to the Moretown School. Budget updates will be sent via our Friday school updates.

Artisans' Fair - Flatbread Sale 
The Moretown Elementary School PTN has an exciting fundraising opportunity.  We are teaming up with American Flatbread (our second year) to sell frozen pizzas at the Dec 10th Artisans' Fair hosted at the school.  Funds raised will be used to support the 2017 Ski Program!   We have 600 pizzas to sell... come out to support our school.

Toys for Children
Toys will be available at the Mad River Valley Food Shelf for children of families in the Mad River Valley that need a little extra help at this time of year. Please visit the toy room in the basement of Evergreen Place in Waitsfield, (down the hall from the Mad River Valley Food Shelf) on ONE of the following dates to choose a couple of toys for your children:
Tuesday, Dec 13th, 9:00am-12:00 noonThursday Dec 15th, 10:00-am-12:00 noonTuesday Dec 20th9:00-12:00 noon, and Thursday Dec 22from 10:00-12:00 noon.

Mrs. Claus is coming to the Moretown Library!     Join Mrs. Claus at the Moretown Library for a special holiday story time Thursday, December 15th6-7:30pm!  Enjoy hot cocoa, cookies and songs. Bring your letters to Santa for her to deliver, too.  Free for all ages, pajamas encouraged.  Call 496-9728 or email moretownlibrary@gmail.com to reserve your spot.

KIDS ACT presents The Lights of Jingle Bell Hill, Saturday, December 17, 4pm, at the Valley Players.  All are welcome.  There is not an admission fee.

Eddie Merma Shares Game
Game inventor Eddie Merma will be at the Joslin Library Saturday, December 10th from 2 -4 sharing his game Isla del Sol. Based on the island in Lake Titicaca bordering Peru and Bolivia,Isla del Sol is a fun and educational game of strategy in which players navigate the land and surrounding waters in search of sun rays and other tools and resources to sustain their journey. Ages 7 and up. Call the library (496-4205) for more information or to reserve a spot.

Bus Service
Seasonal bus service in the Mad River Valley starts on Saturday, December 10th! There will be a new bus stop at the Visitor’s Center (General Wait House) next to Waitsfield Elementary that you can use to get around town or up to the mountain. The Valley Floor route operates on the weekends from 12/10-12/18 and daily service begins on 12/24 through April 2nd hourly from 7am to 6pm.
