School Counselor's Corner:
Resilience is the ability to bounce back and recover from setbacks and failures. When you have trouble, you bounce back and try again. Imagine a ball floating in a pool. No matter how far down you push it, it will always come back to the surface. This is resilience. It is what allows us to persist, and without it learning something new is next to impossible.

Notes from the Health Office

Surveillance Testing

The Harwood Unified Union School District will be offering free surveillance testing to School District staff and contracted service providers working in our buildings, and students attending HUUSD schools whether or not they are vaccinated. This testing serves as an additional mitigation measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our school community. To sign up visit: Vermont School Testing Consent Site.

What happens if my child is home sick or is sent home from school sick?

Testing to return to school

If you are testing to return to school because of COVID-19 related concerns (close contact, symptoms, ending quarantine early), the test must be a PCR test. See the VDH website for free testing locations and to read more about the types of tests.

Has your child already tested positive for COVID-19?

If your child has already had COVID-19, the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that you check in with your child's primary care provider. It is important for your provider to be aware of the test result and to provide you with follow-up guidance.

ECO this week

3rd and 4th grade students continued making detailed nature observations in their journals and worked in groups to build a water wheel using recycled and natural materials and a generator to light up a light. They also had some time to explore the brook using aquatic nets and bins for viewing then releasing captured creatures.
