Introducing some new faces for the fall!!!

Hi, Moretown Elementary School!

My name is Mr. Wally, I’m going to be a 1st/2nd grade teacher this fall. I am so excited to become a part of such a lovely community.

A little bit about myself- I am a recent graduate of UVM where I studied Early Childhood Education, and have spent many years working with children of all ages. In my free time I love to paint, play volleyball, spend time with friends, or just lay in the sun. I also enjoy spoiling my cat, Simon, with little tastes of “human food” that he can’t seem to resist.

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with the students and families at MES, and look forward to learning, adventuring, creating, and finding joy with the children everyday!

Thanks so much!

Wally

Sarah Thompson- Grades 1 and 2

My name is Sarah Thompson, this will be my third year teaching. I’ve taught kindergarten and third grade and I’m so excited to teach first and second grade! I live in south Burlington with my 2 cats Gus and Jerry and when I’m not working I love to spend time in my hammock reading by the lake!

Phil Stolz- School Nurse

My name is Phil Stolz and I will be the school nurse at Moretown.

This will be my third year as a school nurse and I was lastly at Harwood Union. I previously held positions at University of Vermont Health Network Home Health and Hospice as a home health nurse and the University of Vermont Medical Center operating room as an operating room nurse. My undergraduate degree is from Norwich as well as my graduate degree in nursing education. I teach part time at the Community College of Vermont.

I look forward to working with each and every one of your children throughout the school years they are at Moretown. I hope to gain theirs and your trust throughout the years and work in a collaborative effort to promote health, wellness and education with them. I believe that a good healthy relationship between the school nurse and the families is in the best interest of the students and their health promotion and well-being.

As the end of the school year closes and the beginning of next school year starts you’ll be receiving your yearly forms in the mail that include updates of their health information as well as immunization form if your child has an exemptions and I encourage you to get those in as soon as possible so we can work on making sure your child has everything they need and set in place.

Thank you so much for your time in reading this and I look forward to speaking with everyone this year.

Library
The Moretown Librarian Cory Stephenson will be speaking to students about their summer reading programs on Wednesday, May 25 during library classes.

Join us (in-person at MSAC -- masks required -- or virtually via Zoom) next Wed 5/25 1PM. Ticket sales support Montpelier Senior Activity Center. Open to everyone (all ages, all locations). Register here.
