School News:

June 1- Rabbit Rabbit All School Hike
We are excited to hike from school to South Hill again this year.  Thanks to the Greenbergs for their hospitality!  If you are interested in volunteering, please let m know.  If you are not already an approved volunteer, please start the process here: https://huusd.org/apply-to-volunteer

Bummer news,  Wally will not be joining us this fall.  I'm sad to report that he has made the tough decision that he cannot join us at MES.  We wish him all the best in his future.  The 1st/2nd grade position has been reposted and we are confident we will find another good fit.

Musical notes

Hello Moretown!

We are planning to do a non-traditional concert on the afternoon of Monday, June 6th at 1 p.m. in the school gym. We will feature the work that our K through 6 grade classes, our chorus, and our band students have been doing this year.

This is short notice, and with all of the uncertainty surrounding COVID it was difficult to find an evening that could work during this busy time of year, and so we are planning to video the event and put up a link to share with families.

Next year, we will pick the date in September so we can be sure to include all family members who are willing and able to participate.

Please join us if you are able.

Thank you!

Music Teachers, Moretown Elementary

Community News/Opportunities

Please note that the opportunities/events listed below are not specifically endorsed or screened by school staff. As always, families should use their own standards and review processes to determine appropriate activities.

Living Tree Alliance
We were honored to host all the 1st and 2nd graders this year at our sugarbush and bring the students to visit with our chickens and sheep.  We host summer camps at our community farm and would love to wander the woods, rivers and fields with your kids.  We spend the mornings on the farm growing food for the food bank and playing games in the pavilion and at our natural playground and the afternoons swimming in the rivers and creeks while exploring the trails and forests in back of Harwood.  The August dates of our camp correspond with the week that there is no Neck of the Woods camp.

Check it out, we have a few spots left!

YMCA CAMP KODA
Camp Koda is our co-ed summer day camp for kids who have completed kindergarten to age 12. Camp Koda gets its name from the Sioux word for friendship and focuses on achievement, belonging, and relationships. Each week follows a theme and includes hands-on learning and plenty of time-honored favorites. While specific activities may differ from location to location, you can always be sure that your child is learning, playing, and growing in a fun, safe environment.  For more information visit their website which can be found at this link.
